Adverse Media Search
DetectX® Adverse Media Search reads unstructured digital sources in real time, scores the risk and the sentiment in what it finds, and shows the people and organisations connected to it.
The DetectX® approach
Natural language processing reads a wide range of digital sources, including the Google API, LexisNexis, OpenCorporates and public registers, using predefined and customisable keywords alongside a name or company as the search input.
Each document is scored for risk and sentiment from keyword frequency, sentiment analysis and topic relevance. Sources in multiple languages are supported, so a search covers a stakeholder base that is not only English-speaking.
- Manual and batch
- A single search, or the whole book processed at once.
- Risk and sentiment scoring
- Per document, from frequency, sentiment and topic relevance.
- Multi-language sources
- Global searches rather than English-only coverage.
- Risk persons identified
- Sanctions and PEP status surfaced alongside the media.
- Link Analysis
- The organisations and people connected to a result, visualised.
- API integration
- Called from the systems the work already happens in.
- Audit history
- Results attach to the dossier, so the decision trail is kept.
- Azure-hosted
- Cloud services configured for data privacy.
Key benefits and impact
Risk in media coverage is found early rather than at the next periodic review, and it arrives already scored, so an analyst triages rather than reads.
It runs standalone or inside an existing process, which means it can be added without rebuilding the onboarding flow around it.
Why DetectX®
Results do not land in a separate tool. Adverse Media Search shares the Alert Viewer with profiling, behavioural analysis, transaction monitoring, name screening and link analysis, so a document found here is reviewed, classified and added to the investigation dossier in the same place as every other alert.
The Alert Viewer carries the workflow with it: task distribution automatic or manual, the review steps recorded, and reporting across the result set.
Regulatory requirements
DetectX® supports the FATF and GAFI recommendations, and is used against Swiss regulatory requirements including GwG, FINMA-GwV, VsB 16, KAG, FinfraG, FidleG, BEHG and KKG.
It also supports MiFID and EMIR reporting obligations, and BASEL II and III requirements.
