Transaction Monitoring
DetectX® Transaction Monitoring reads transfers, deposits, withdrawals and trades to find layering, profile normal behaviour, and raise the transactions that depart from it.
The DetectX® approach
Monitoring builds a customer risk profile from transaction history rather than checking each payment in isolation, so a transaction is judged against what that customer normally does.
Thresholds and rules are configurable and maintained by the compliance team rather than by a change request, and the engine is built for high volume at speed.
- Layering detection
- Patterns across a sequence of transactions, not single payments.
- Behavioural profiling
- A baseline per customer, so the comparison is to them.
- Dynamic rules
- Created and maintained without a development cycle.
- Audit-proof trail
- Every investigative step documented for a regulator.
- Configurable by sector
- Used by banks, insurers, casinos, betting offices and jewellery businesses.
Key benefits and impact
Continuous learning raises true detections and lowers false alerts, which is the difference between a queue a team can clear and a backlog that grows.
The same customer profile that supports a compliance decision also shows commercial behaviour, so the monitoring investment is not confined to the compliance team.
Why DetectX®
Transaction Monitoring is a module on the platform, not a separate system. It shares the Alert Viewer, the lists and the reporting with screening and adverse media, so an alert raised by a transaction can be investigated against that customer's screening history without leaving it.
Every step is recorded in an audit-proof manner, which is what makes a monitoring decision defensible after the fact rather than only at the time.
Regulatory requirements
DetectX® supports the FATF and GAFI recommendations, and is used against Swiss regulatory requirements including GwG, FINMA-GwV, VsB 16, KAG, FinfraG, FidleG, BEHG and KKG.
It also supports MiFID and EMIR reporting obligations, and BASEL II and III requirements.
